Overall Opinion:

Overall, I give MyProtein Impact Whey Protein 2/5 stars.

It has a few pluses but other that it’s a little below average in my book.

It’s pretty inexpensive, but you get what you pay for.

About $27 gets you 40 servings of protein.

It has 19 grams of protein and low in fat, carbs, and calories.

This makes it useful for building muscle and potential weight loss.

It’s solely whey protein concentrate, which isn’t ideal.

In my opinion, it’s a lower quality protein compared to isolate.

Regardless, it’s quick absorbing and I used it 30-60 minutes after working out as a recovery drink.

I also took it 30 minutes before working out some days.

You can do either option or a combo.  This protein can be used at any time during the day.

It suggests if you want to take it as a pre-bed protein kick, mix it with milk because that makes it have a slower absorption rate.

I noticed some side effects with it, which isn’t fun.

It also tastes pretty bad…really sweet with a bitter aftertaste that comes back to bite you.

There’s not satisfaction guarantee either, which is a huge disappointment.

All in all, it’s not my favorite protein powder.

In a pinch, it could serve as a cheap source of protein but I say opt for a higher quality product.

Detailed Opinion:

Ease of Use

This protein powder is a breeze to use.

Just mix 1 scoop with 6 – 8 ounces of water or milk.

I used a shaker cup and it blended up within seconds.

Nice consistency and no chunks.

Taste

I got the Vanilla flavor and I don’t like it at all.

Taste is a big factor for me because it greatly affects the amount I’m going to use it.

It’s hard to choke down a protein you hate every day or multiple times a day.

This one is super artificial tasting.

It’s really sweet and then gets you with a bitter aftertaste.

Gross!

Macro Analysis

The macro breakdown for 1 scoop/serving is 19 grams of protein, 1.7 grams of fat, and 3 grams of carbs.

It also has 104 calories per serving.

These numbers are good for those looking to build some muscle, aid in recovery, and help lose weight.

Ingredient Drilldown

The sole protein source is whey protein concentrate.

I prefer whey protein isolate because it’s a higher quality protein.

However, whey protein in general is very fast absorbing so your body uses it right away.

This makes it ideal for before and after workouts.

It has all the essential amino acids and 4.5 grams of BCAAs.

There are 3.6 grams of glutamine per serving, which helps with muscle recovery.

Keep in mind this protein powder contains milk and soy.

Side Effects

I had some minor side effects while taking this protein powder.

I had some belly bloating and felt a little sluggish from it.

It may be due to the 2 types of artificial sweeteners used, which can cause these issues in people.

Best Uses

This protein powder is diverse.

You can use it to build muscle, help with recovery, loss weight, or tone up.

19 grams of protein along with BCAAs are good for building muscle and aiding in recovery.

It’s low in fat, cals, and carbs so it’s also an option for those looking to lose weight or tone up.

Price/Value

It costs $26.99 for a 2.2-pound pouch of this protein.

That works out to 3.55 cents per gram of protein.

That’s super affordable and much cheaper than average.

I feel like you get what you pay for but it’s an inexpensive option if you need some quick protein.

Guarantee

I couldn’t find a guarantee on the MyProtein website.

Nothing bums me out more than a company who doesn’t have a guarantee.

So disappointing!
