Top 10 Ingredients: Whey Protein Concentrate, Artificial Flavor, Salt, Soy Lecithin, Carrageenan, Xanthan Gum, Acesulfame Potassium and Sucralose
Overall Opinion:
We have a mixed opinion about EAS 100% Pure Whey Protein Powder and here’s why…
It has 30 grams per serving, which is a good amount for those looking to build muscle.
The protein is from 100% whey protein concentrate and doesn’t use any fillers, which is awesome.
It also has 7.3 grams of BCAAs per serving.
The fat, carbs, and calories are also relatively low, which may help aid in building lean muscle mass.
EAS 100% Pure Whey Protein Powder is also a super cost effective way to get extra protein in your diet.
It comes in at only 2.3 cents per gram of protein, which is fantastic!
This is a huge perk of this product.
However, this product does contain milk and soy, which may be a problem for some people.
It also contains an artificial sweetener, sucralose, that can sometimes cause bloating and stomach pain.
We actually saw some of these side effects while taking this protein powder, too.
It wasn’t horrible but definitely wasn’t fun to have a stomachache.
Another downside is that this protein powder can be a total pain in the butt to mix!
Good luck trying to mix it with a spoon…
This is a product where you definitely need a blender or shaker and it needs a good 30 seconds of mixing to get to a manageable consistency.
The taste is also the typical “old school” protein powder type that isn’t the most appetizing.
It also has a relatively high amount of cholesterol per serving, 100mg, which some people may want to keep in mind.
So overall, we gave EAS 100% Pure Whey Protein Powder 3 out of 5 stars, which makes it about an average protein powder with some added perks.
It’s a good product for building lean muscle mass, has a good source of protein, and is incredibly affordable but it’s a pain to mix and may cause some side effects in some people.
Detailed Opinion:
Ease of Use
EAS 100% Pure Whey Protein Powder is a pain in the butt to mix.
We first tried mixing it with a spoon and that was a total failure.
It was super chunky and not blended at all.
You definitely need a shaker or blender for this protein powder.
Take 2 scoops and combine it with 8 oz of cold water, milk or your beverage of choice.
Mix in a shaker or blender for at least 20 – 30 seconds.
After that, the consistency isn’t too bad.
Taste
We tried this EAS 100% Pure Whey Protein Powder in Vanilla and weren’t big fans of the taste.
This protein powder had that classic “old school” protein powder taste.
It just wasn’t that appetizing.
However, it wasn’t the worst we’ve tried.
It definitely is doable and you can enhance the taste by taking it with milk, almond milk, or soymilk.
It also comes in a Chocolate flavor, too.
Macro Analysis
As for the macros, each serving contains 30 grams of protein, 2.5 grams of fat and 5 grams of carbs.
This protein amount is good for those looking to build lean muscle mass.
The fat and carb content is also relatively low, which is always a good thing!
The calorie content is middle of the road at 160 calories per 2 scoops (1 serving).
Overall, this is a pretty good macro combination for those looking to gain some muscle.
Ingredient Drilldown
EAS 100% Pure Whey Protein Powder has some things we like about their ingredients, and some things we don’t.
The protein source consists solely of whey protein concentrate.
This is a quality protein source and the product doesn’t use any fillers or blends.
It also contains 7.3 grams of naturally occurring branched chain amino acids (BCAAs), which may help aid in muscle recovery.
This product does contain milk and soy ingredients, so keep that in mind if you’re allergic or sensitive to those.
It also has a higher amount of cholesterol, about 33% of your RDA in 1 serving.
This protein powder also has artificial flavors and sucralose as the sweetener.
That helps keep the sugar at only 2 grams per serving but sucralose is an artificial sweetener and may cause some bloating and digestive upset in some people.
Side Effects
I did notice some belly bloat and stomach pain about 30 minutes after taking this protein powder.
It wasn’t the worst thing ever but it definitely was noticeable and not fun!
Maybe keep this in mind if you have a sensitive stomach.
Best Uses
After using this protein powder for a while, we’d say it’s best used for those looking to build muscle.
The 30 grams of protein per serving is a great amount to help build muscle and get in that needed protein.
A couple servings per day could really boost your overall protein amount and if taken 30 minutes after working out it may help maximize muscle growth, strength and recovery.
Price/Value
EAS 100% Pure Whey Protein Powder costs $14.53 for a 2-pound container. That works out to about 2.30 cents per gram of protein, which is incredibly affordable for a protein powder!
It’s definitely cheaper than average compared to other protein products.
I’d say this is a great, inexpensive way to really get some extra protein into your diet.
Guarantee
Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a guarantee on their website but you might be able to get a refund if you buy it at Amazon or at certain retailers.
