Overall Opinion:
I give PlantFusion Complete Plant Protein 4 out of 5 stars.
I really love this protein powder for many reasons!
First off, it’s 100% plant-based and vegan. Huge bonus!
It tastes fantastic!
Normally vegan proteins are a challenge to get down because they’re chalky, gritty, and thick.
They also have a very earthy aftertaste that isn’t always pleasant.
This one is much smoother and tastier!
I’m super impressed! It tastes great and mixes up in a breeze.
This protein is hypoallergenic and is free of all major allergens such as gluten, soy, dairy, wheat, peanuts, and egg.
It’s natural and is free of artificial preservatives, flavors, colors, and GMOs.
The formula includes digestive enzymes, which helps you fully digest the ingredients and protein and helps prevent any negative side effects.
I felt great while taking this supplement and had energy during my workouts and used it as a recovery drink, as well.
It’s comparable to whey protein in amino acid density and balance.
It has BCAAs that help with protein synthesis, energy, and muscle recovery.
The macros are solid and it’s perfect for those following a vegan or vegetarian diet or those with food allergies.
I’m really impressed with this plant-based protein.
There are just a few things I don’t like.
PlantFusion is more expensive than average (most vegan proteins are) but the company doesn’t offer you any kind of money back or satisfaction guarantee.
So disappointing!!
But overall, I think this is a SOLID vegan protein powder and I’ll definitely be buying it again.
Detailed Opinion:
Ease of Use
This protein powder is super easy to use, especially for a plant-based protein (which is usually crazy thick and gritty).
This one still is but much more manageable!
Just take 1 scoop and mix it with 10 – 12 ounces of chilled water (or your favorite beverage) in a shaker cup or blender for about 5 seconds.
It mixes up quickly and easily!
Taste
I got this PlantFusion Complete Plant Protein in the Chocolate flavor.
They use gourmet flavors and it’s really evident in the taste!
The flavor is amazing and the rich chocolate flavor is delicious.
Plant-based proteins have that characteristic thick/chalky texture and taste.
It’s definitely different and can take a little while to get used to but this shake is MUCH better than most vegan shakes.
I combined it with chocolate almond milk and it tastes fantastic!
Macro Analysis
The macros for 1 serving (1 scoop) of this protein shake are: 21 grams protein, 2 grams fat, and 4 grams of carbohydrates.
I’m impressed it only has 4 g of carbs because plant-based proteins usually have a higher carb amount.
I really like these macros, especially for plant-based, vegan diets.
There’s also 120 calories per serving.
Ingredient Drilldown
PlantFusion Complete Plant Protein uses a 100% plant-based (vegan), Amino Acid Infused Protein Blend 21,000 mg: including Pea Protein Isolate, Artichoke Protein, Organic Sprouted Amaranth Powder, Organic Sprouted Quinoa Powder.
It provides 4,500 mg of BCAAs (L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine, and L-Valine) and 3,350 mg L-Glutamine.
BCAAs help convert amino acids into energy during intense exercise, trigger protein synthesis, reduce the breakdown of muscle cells, and reduce muscle soreness.
Those consuming BCAAs on a daily basis have been shown to have less visceral belly fat and increased muscle mass.
PlantFusion Complete Plant Protein compares to whey protein in amino acid density and balance.
It’s also very easy to digest because it’s free of major allergens like soy, gluten, and dairy.
The inclusion of the Enzyme Blend of Bromelain, Alpha-Galactosidase and other naturally occurring enzymes also help with digestion.
Most legumes (like peas) contain starches that cause gas and bloating in many individuals.
The starches are naturally separated from the proteins in PlantFusion in the manufacturing processes, but there still could be some trace amounts.
Alpha-Galactosidase helps breaks down the remaining traces of starch to ensure easy digestion in even the most sensitive stomachs.
Bromelain, a proteolytic enzyme from pineapple, helps you digest proteins.
This formula is incredibly clean and leaves out all the chemicals and junk that we don’t need.
There’s no GMOs, artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
It’s also hypoallergenic and is free of all major allergens including: gluten, soy, dairy, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, and eggs.
Side Effects
I had absolutely zero side effects while supplementing with this protein!
I felt great the whole time!
Sometimes I get bloated or sluggish from vegan proteins but this one is great.
I think the addition of digestive enzymes really helps keep everything moving in tiptop shape.
Best Uses
After trying this product and doing some research, I’d say it’s best for those people wanting to tone up or lose weight.
Since it’s a complete plant-based protein, it’s especially great for vegan or vegetarian diets.
This hypoallergenic protein powder is fantastic if you have soy, dairy, gluten, or egg allergies.
Price/Value
PlantFusion Complete Plant Protein costs $29.99 for a 1-pound container, which contains 15 servings.
Once you work it out, it comes to 9.5 cents per gram of protein, which is above average for a protein powder.
However, vegan or plant based protein powders are usually more expensive since it’s a specialty product.
But I think the price is worth it for this particular protein powder!
It’s a great quality, vegan protein that could benefit a lot of people.
Guarantee
I couldn’t find any type of guarantee on the PlantFusion website.
I’m SO disappointed by this…especially since this protein is more expensive.
I really expected them to offer their customers something in terms of a guarantee.
Also, their return policy is horrible.
They give you a strict 30 day return policy BUT the “item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.”
So, it’s basically not a return policy at all because you can’t even try it first.
Double bummer!
