Pure Protein Whey Protein Powder gets 1 out of 5 stars.

Needless to say, I hate this protein powder.

There’s so much wrong with it.

I couldn’t find anything I even liked about it.

So here’s the quick synopsis of this protein powder.

It’s cheaply made and cheap in price, so you get what you pay for.

It uses a vague “protein blend”, so you have no idea how much of each protein is used.

It says right on the front of the container that it doesn’t have soy protein.

Which is fantastic!

However, it still uses soy lecithin.

That’s a cheap additive that adds to the flavor and texture of the shake.

But it messes with men and women because it can affect your hormones.

It basically can increase estrogen levels and decrease testosterone levels.

Yeah…that’s not what we want at all.

It also tastes horrible and left me feeling crappy and sluggish.

I didn’t feel replenished before or after the gym.

And you only get 12 servings per container.

And it suggests taking 1-2 servings daily, so you’re left with a measly 6 days worth of protein.

Overall, it’s just a bad product and I don’t recommend using it.

Ease of Use

It says you can mix this protein powder easily using 3 different methods.

They say either stir it up with a spoon, use a shaker cup, or blend it up.

The spoon method is a waste of time.  It ends up being SO chunky.

It mixes up decently in a shaker cup or blender in about 25 – 30 seconds.


I got this in the Vanilla Cream flavor and it’s absolutely awful.

It tastes horrible.

It’s really chalky and has that chemical aftertaste.

It’s also really artificially flavored, so it’s super sweet and not in a good way.

Breaking down the macros…each serving or scoop (39 grams) contains 25 grams of protein 2.5 grams of fat and 9 grams of carbohydrates.

The calorie content is about average and comes in at 160 calories per serving.

First off, it uses a protein blend…which is a huge red flag.

You have absolutely no idea how much they use of which proteins.

In every 39-gram scoop, there’s 25 grams of protein.

That shows me there’s a ton of filler in this product.

The protein sources are whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate.

It states there’s over 5 grams of BCAAs per serving and typically provides 2.65 grams of Leucine and 1.37 grams of Valine.

Something that REALLY bothers me about this protein powder is that right on the front of the package and first thing on the website description says “contains no soy protein**”.

Which leads you to believe there’s no soy in this.


Flip to the back and it says “**contains soy lecithin”.

I hate when companies are misleading like that.

I don’t like soy in my protein powders and it really does nothing but harm and mess with the body, both male and female.

Soy lecithin is just a cheap additive to help the product taste and blend better.

It’s also usually used when the protein powder itself isn’t high quality.

Overall, soy has the ability to increase estrogen levels and decreased testosterone levels.

The exact opposite of what you want if you’re a male body builder trying to gain mass or have a healthier physique overall.

And soy messes with women’s hormone levels as well and can lead to issues both physically and mentally.

So, this product contains milk and soy ingredients.

And it also has a TON of crappy additives and fillers and just junk.

Not a fan of this ingredient line up.

Side Effects

I felt pretty crappy the whole time I used this protein powder.

It made my stomach hurt and I felt so sluggish and bloated.

It also gave me a headache sometimes.

Overall, I just felt off while taking it.

Anywhere from bulking or gaining mass to weight-loss and toning up.

It just depends on what you’re looking for and how you want to fit it in with your lifestyle.

If you want to gain mass, then take 1-2 scoops daily and especially right after working out.

Mix your shake with high fat/calories like peanut butter and whole milk.  Or you can use it in oatmeal or in protein waffles or pancakes.

For weight loss, mix it with water or skim milk.

And add it into fruit smoothies as a filling snack.
